asog
Jaya, a non-binary teacher, and TV comedian, loses their job following the typhoon that devastated the Philippines in 2013. They then decide to participate in a drag competition at the edge of the country. Arnel, an introverted former student, in search of his father, imposes himself on their journey… Thus begins a tragi-comic road trip where each protagonist plays their own role, revealing the deep fractures of a land fallen prey to capitalist ambitions.
Irreverent, immersed in a ravaged and sublime natural setting, Asog is an artistic work, powerful, ecological, decolonial, absolutely queer!
